Better Options Out There

Maybe I got a bad unit, but I have found that the potentiometer (adjustment wheel) is very inaccurate and hard to use. Sometimes a quarter turn will change the value 5%, sometimes 50% and even worse, it won’t hold the value so you turn it to a value you like and when you pull your finger away from the wheel it jumps to a different value. This makes it extremely hard to use with any accuracy. One of the things I liked about it was the ability to tell exact values from the digital screen but the jumpiness of the adjustment wheel makes it fairly useless. The other issue I have with mine is that the lcd screen has a pretty big dead spot. It doesn’t prevent you from reading it, but it looks bad and causes some confusion when a number is displayed that could be another number but it’s unclear because of the dead spot (like 7 and 1…the dead spot covers the top left of the “7” so it’s hard to tell if it’s a 7 or a 1).Battery life is good, and it is fairly bright. It doesn’t get as dim as I would like but that’s not a dealbreaker. The color variations are nice and rich and it’s nice being able to punch in a specific value with the selection buttons. I don’t really have a use for the “lighting scenes” but there are a lot of them and they are pretty good.Again, I could have just gotten a bad unit but in my opinion there are better options out there for the same price.

Cheap, effective cold shoe light

I don't do anything too crazy, I'm no professional photographer or videographer, but I do like being able to take good photos and pride myself on a period I recently picked up a road phone cage which has tons of thread mounts and cold shoes and I figured this be great to pair.it's not incredibly bright, but it does have a wide variety of adjustments in color temperature and hue, and gets the job done for a price that won't break the bank. My only complaint is that my unit does have something rattling inside of it, as if there's a screw loose or component loose that had fallen into the shell, but I haven't seen any issues while using it so far. Time will tell if this grows into a larger issue.

An okay budget selfie light

This is an okay budget selfie light. There's nothing spectacular about it but it's not awful, either. One thing that I don't like about it is that turning on the light is don't by a wheel near the corner of the light. Matter the light is on, the brightness is controlled by further turning that wheel. The temperature of the light can be changed and it's set up to accept threaded inserts from a tripod. One thing about this light is that it does give you a whole lot of versatility and utility depending on your situation. This light being rechargeable via USB C is also a huge plus

Works but it feels cheap

I have a couple of other similar lights (and similarly priced) and they feel more robust than this. While the light works well enough, the housing is cheap, there is no magnetic mounting ability, and the hot shoe doesn’t detach, while the ability side mount other hot shoes is there, it’s again done in the plastic housing.

Decent color temperature

Decent color temperature. Pretty much what you expect at this price point. I'm not sure how strong the output is but this is definitely more of a fill light than a key. the LEDs are sealed behind plastic diffusion. I'm not sure how many there are. It has some cheesy membrane buttons for switching modes but I really like that it has an old fashioned dial for setting the light level up or down.
